Product Details

Product Advantages

  • Custom Die Design & Rapid Prototyping: Significantly lower tooling costs compared to plastic injection molding or die casting. Our proprietary die-making process allows for rapid iterations, intricate hollow chambers, and seamless interlocking joint designs.

  • Exceptional Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Aluminum extrusions offer the structural integrity of steel at roughly one-third the weight, drastically reducing shipping costs, improving fuel efficiency in automotive applications, and easing manual assembly on factory floors.

  • Superior Thermal Management: Unmatched thermal and electrical conductivity makes our extruded profiles the industry standard for custom heat sinks, battery enclosures for electric vehicles (EVs), and LED lighting housings.

  • One-Stop Value-Added Fabrication: We eliminate supply chain bottlenecks by offering in-house precision cutting, multi-axis CNC machining, punching, bending, tapping, and fully automated robotic welding directly after the extrusion process.

Rigorous Quality Assurance & Inspection

Structural failure is catastrophic. We guarantee that every batch of aluminum extrusions meets rigorous metallurgical and geometric standards through a comprehensive, data-driven quality control pipeline.

  • Billet Homogenization & Chemical Analysis: Every aluminum billet undergoes optical emission spectrometry to verify elemental composition (Magnesium, Silicon, Copper ratios) before entering the pre-heating furnace.

  • Die Tracking & Thermal Control: Extrusion dies are pre-heated and nitrided for longevity. Exit temperatures are continuously monitored via infrared pyrometers to ensure optimal conditions for the quenching process.

  • Optical Profile Scanning: Cross-sections are cut directly at the press and placed into advanced laser profile scanners. These systems compare the physical geometry against your CAD files in real-time, checking critical dimensions, wall thicknesses, and angle tolerances down to the micron.

  • Mechanical Property Testing: Following the artificial aging process (T5/T6 temper), samples are subjected to destructive testing in our metallurgical lab to verify Tensile Strength, Yield Strength, and Elongation percentages.

  • Hardness Verification: Non-destructive surface hardness testing utilizing Barcol and Webster hardness testers ensures the material has reached its specified temper specification.

Comprehensive Aluminum Alloy Selection Guide

Selecting the optimal aluminum alloy series is the most critical decision in the extrusion process, dictating the profile's extrudability, tensile strength, machinability, and final surface finish quality. We specialize primarily in the highly versatile 6000-series, but accommodate specialty requests.

Alloy GradePrimary Characteristics & Mechanical PropertiesIdeal Applications & Industry Use-Cases
6063Excellent extrudability, superior surface finish, high corrosion resistance. Moderately strong.Architectural windows/doors, LED light housings, furniture, decorative trim, standard T-slot profiles.
6061High structural strength, excellent machinability, and good weldability. The industry standard for structural integrity.Heavy-duty industrial framing, automotive chassis components, marine hardware, aerospace structures.
6005 / 6005ABetter strength than 6063, highly extrudable for complex hollow shapes. Excellent impact resistance.Solar panel mounting frames, railway components, structural ladders, mass transit seating.
6082The highest strength of the 6000 series. Exceptional corrosion resistance in stress applications.Heavy engineering, high-stress scaffolding, offshore marine applications, structural bridges.
7075Ultra-high tensile strength, comparable to many steels. Poor extrudability for complex shapes.Aerospace structures, military defense equipment, high-performance bicycle frames, sporting goods.
1050 / 1060Pure aluminum (99.5%+). Maximum thermal and electrical conductivity. Very soft and ductile.Chemical equipment, electrical busbars, specialized heat sinks, food industry containers.

Advanced Surface Finishes & Protective Coatings

An extruded profile is rarely complete right out of the press. We maintain massive in-house anodizing lines and powder-coating facilities to protect your components from environmental degradation, improve surface hardness, and achieve exacting cosmetic branding requirements.

Finish TypeAesthetic AppearanceFunctional Benefits & Durability Metrics
Mill Finish (Raw)Natural silver metallic with visible longitudinal extrusion lines. Most cost-effective. Suitable for hidden internal structural parts or parts requiring post-machining.
Mechanical Brushing / SandblastingUniform matte (sandblast) or linear directional grain (brushing).Removes die lines and surface imperfections. Prepares the surface for premium anodizing.
Clear Anodizing (Type II)Smooth, durable, natural silver finish. Retains metallic look.Exceptional corrosion resistance, prevents oxidation, creates a hard dielectric surface layer.
Color AnodizingVibrant, deep metallic colors (Black, Gold, Blue, Red, Bronze).Integrates UV-resistant dyes directly into the porous oxide layer for long-lasting cosmetic appeal.
Hardcoat Anodizing (Type III)Dark grey to black; highly dense coating.Extreme abrasion and wear resistance. Used for sliding mechanisms, pistons, and industrial robotics.
Powder CoatingLimitless solid colors matching the entire RAL color chart.Thick, impact-resistant polymer barrier. Highly UV stable and ideal for harsh outdoor architectural use.
Electrophoresis (E-Coating)Flawlessly smooth, bright finish (typically clear or black).Exceptional adhesion and uniform thickness, even deep inside complex hollow chambers.
Wood Grain TransferHighly realistic simulation of natural wood textures.Combines the aesthetic warmth of wood with the rot-proof, fire-resistant durability of aluminum.

FAQ

Q1:What is the process and cost for opening a custom extrusion die?

A:Compared to other manufacturing methods, aluminum extrusion dies are highly economical, typically ranging from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the Circumscribing Circle Diameter (CCD) and whether the profile is solid or hollow. The die design and cutting process takes approximately 10 to 15 days. Once the die is paid for, it remains your exclusive intellectual property.

Q2:What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for custom profiles?

A:For newly developed custom profiles, our initial trial and prototyping run typically requires an MOQ of just 300kg to 500kg (660 lbs to 1,100 lbs) to stabilize the press and verify the die. For subsequent mass production runs, the standard MOQ is generally 1,000kg (1 Metric Ton) per profile, though this can be negotiated based on annual volume commitments.

Q3:Can you supply standard T-Slot aluminum profiles and accessories?

A:Yes. In addition to custom extrusions, we hold extensive tooling for standard modular framing systems (e.g., 2020, 3030, 4040, 4545, and 8080 series profiles in both metric and imperial measurements). We can also supply all compatible fastening hardware, including drop-in T-nuts, corner brackets, gussets, and end caps.

Q4:How do you ensure tight tolerances on cut-to-length profiles?

A:Our secondary fabrication department utilizes automated, high-speed CNC double-mitre saws and dedicated linear cutting centers. We consistently achieve precision cut-to-length tolerances of ±0.2mm to ±0.5mm depending on the overall length of the extrusion, ensuring perfect fitment for your final assembly operations.
